Note for statutory and privately insured patients:
In my practice, uninsured patients are treated both legally and personally. Some benefits are not or only partially covered by public health insurance. Of course we will inform you here on a case-by-case basis and clarify any incurring costs in a transparent and timely manner.
As your primary medical contact, your health and well-being is very important to me. Your trust is for me the basis for qualified and successful medical care. My goal is to provide you with comprehensive medical support for all your primary care needs and treatment of internal illnesses, as well as to provide competent medical diagnostics and care according to the latest medical standards.
As your specialist in internal medicine, I treat for example:
- Diseases of the cardiovascular system
(hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias, coronary heart disease, etc.) - Diseases of the respiratory tract
(Colds, bronchitis, COPD etc.) - Diseases of the abdominal organs
(Diarrhea, intestinal inflammations, diseases oft he liver, galbladder, pancreas etc.) - Metabolic diseases including diabetes mellitus
- Thyroid dysfunction
Moreover, the close cooperation with competent specialist medical practices and centers in Berlin also ensures your optimal care.
My job as your long-term and trustful contact is to assist you with all health-related issues, to accompany you on your “medical” journey and to help you select treatment options tailored individually for you.
My particular focus lies in the prevention of illness (preventive medicine). Through regular checkups, such as Check Up 35 or the individual health check, your personal risk factors can be detected and treated early.
Laboratory tests
Blood values often give the clinician valuable information needed for the diagnosis of diseases, as well as knowing the course of a disease and treatment response during therapy. Which blood tests are important for proper diagnosis must first be discussed with the doctor. Additional diagnostic information can be obtained from tests of the urine or stool, such as infection or blood in the stool.
Adult vaccinations
Vaccination is a preventive measure against an infectious disease. The body is made immune, so that it if it comes into contact with a pathogen, the already formed antibodies (active immunization) or injected antibodies (passive immunization) immediately set up a defense against the pathogen to ensure its health. The STIKO (Committee on Vaccination) recognizes a number of important vaccinations from the age of 18, which are supported by the insurance companies.
Travel medicine and travel vaccination
Medical travel advice is not covered by health insurance and is calculated based on the private, self-pay fee structure of the doctors (Gebührenordnung der Ärzte).
DMP Programme
A Disease Management Program (abbreviated DMP) is a systematic treatment program for chronically ill patients, based on the findings of evidence-based medicine. In the field of statutory health insurance (GKV), these programs are referred to as disease management or chronic patient programs. The objective of DMP programs is to maintain the health of patients who suffer from chronic diseases through continuous care and treatment to prevent related illnesses according to scientifically-established medical standards. In our practice we offer DMP programs for CHD (coronary heart disease), diabetes mellitus type 2, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and bronchial asthma.
Psychosomatic primary care
The steady increase in psychosomatic illnesses makes such basic services more important. The clinical field of psychosomatic medicine includes, for example: depression, anxiety disorders or personality disorders.
ECG
The ECG involves the recording of the electrical activity of all cardiac muscle fibers of the heart. By means of this study, the heart rate (bradycardia/tachycardia), heart rhythm (regular/irregular) and the activity of the atria and ventricles are read. For the diagnosis of cardiac arrhythmias such as extra beats of the heart, as well as disturbances of conduction and propagation (bundle branch block / AV block), the ECG is indispensable for the diagnosis of a possible heart attack. In a normal ECG, the heart is monitored at rest without physical effort.
Excercise ECG (stress test)
In a stress test, the maximum load level and the increase of blood pressure and heart rate is observed during physical activity. The investigation also provides information on whether possible circulatory disorders are present in the heart.
24-hour ECG measurement
In a 24-hour ECG, an electrocardiogram is recorded by a portable device over a period of 24 hours. The recording is used to assess the heart rhythm and it helps to precisely determine disorders.
24-hour blood pressure measurement
In a 24-hour blood pressure measurement, the blood pressure is measured regularly by a portable device over a period of 24 hours. This makes it possible to assess whether a treatment for hypertension is required or whether an existing drug antihypertensive therapy should be re-adjusted.
Pulmonary function test (spirometry)
The measurement of lung function is performed by means of spirometry. Here normal breathing, as well as a maximum exhalation and inhalation is measured to determine lung volume among other parameters. The results are represented graphically and evaluated by the physician. Lung function testing is used for the diagnosis and monitoring of asthmatic diseases, acute and chronic bronchitis or emphysema.
Pre-operative diagnosis
Some outpatient or inpatient surgical procedures may require a preoperative diagnosis consisting of laboratory tests, physical examinations, ECG and, if necessary, a lung function test.
Ultrasound of the abdominal organs (abdominal sonography)
Abdominal sonography involved the ultrasound examination of the abdominal organs (e.g. liver, gallbladder, pancreas, kidneys, spleen, intestine, blood vessels and lymph nodes). It is used especially to investigate unclear abdominal discomfort. Inflammatory changes as well as benign and malignant diseases of the organs (e.g. cysts or tumors) can be diagnosed.
Ultrasound of the thyroid
The thyroid gland has a very important function to control many metabolic processes of the body. Thyroid disorders are common disorders. Up to 30 percent of the population has thyroid nodules (mostly benign), an enlarged thyroid gland (goiter), or under- or overactive thyroid (for example, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis). Often this goes unnoticed, yet a change should always remain under control.
Ultrasound of neck vessels (Doppler / duplex sonography)
* private medical services
The doppler and duplex sonography are two complementary ultrasonic methods for assessing the blood flow situation of neck arteries (carotid artery). They assess the flow of blood, the blood vessel wall thickness, deposits (atherosclerosis) and possible strictures (stenosis), which can lead to circulatory disorders of the brain.
Health investigation Check Up
The statutory health insurance offers a “health check” once between the age of 18 to 34 and every 3 years from the age of 35. This includes a survey of the medical history, a physical examination, the determination of total cholesterol and glucose levels in the blood, and a urine test. In addition, it is recommended that the current vaccination status and any regularly-taken medications be checked.
Individual Health Check
The health screening allowed every 3 years by the statutory health insurance (Check Up 35) covers in my professional view only a portion of all health aspects and does not take the specific risks and needs of each patient into account.
The individual health check gives you the opportunity to sensibly and individually supplement the health screening of the statutory health insurance in order to better determine your personal health risk.
Useful supplements include for example:
- Advanced laboratory tests (vitamins, iron, HIV, PSA, etc.)
- Ultrasound of abdominal organs
- Ultrasound of the thyroid
- Stress ECG
- Doppler / duplex examination of neck vessels
My offer is addressed to all those who wish to gain an overview of their health and take the results as an opportunity to optimize their own lifestyle.
In addition to the scope of benefits of the statutory health insurance, you can finance these supplemental procedures on a self-pay basis. Incidental fees vary according to the fee structure of the doctors (Gebührenordnung für Ärzte).

Medical certificates
Please contact us if you need a private doctor’s certificate or a private expert certification such as a health assessment for training, for the university, for a sports club/gym or for a tour operator.
Vitamin cures and revitalization infusions
Vitamin cures or revitalization infusion therapies are used in cases of fatigue, chronic fatigue, exhaustion, inefficiency, before or after strenuous exercise, and for convalescence in diseases and for mood elevation in depression. Positive health effects can be seen with a weekly application usually over a period of 4-6 weeks.
Very often applied are high-dose vitamin C infusions, intramuscular vitamin B doses and the so-called Myers’ Cocktail (contains vitamin C, vitamin B6, B12, calcium and magnesium).
Please note that these cures and revitalization infusions are not a panacea and not a substitute for a healthy lifestyle, adequate sleep and regular exercise. Before the first use of such therapies, the presence of serious diseases should always be ruled out by the attending physician.
Travel medicine and travel vaccination
The travel vaccination depends on the travel destination, length of stay and the activities in each country. Please note that vaccinations need time. A basic immunization often requires two to three injections with time intervals in between. It is therefore important when planning a larger trip to promptly inquire about the required immunization.
Ultrasound of neck vessels (Doppler / duplex sonography)
The Doppler and duplex sonography are two complementary ultrasonic methods for assessing the blood flow situation of neck arteries (carotid artery). They assess the flow of blood, the blood vessel wall thickness, deposits (atherosclerosis) and possible strictures (stenosis), which can lead to circulatory disorders of the brain.
Diving medicine
A certificate of good physical condition for diving according to the guidelines of the Society for Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine (GTÜM) includes:
- Detailed medical history under special diving aspects and a thorough complete internist neurological examination
- ECG starting at 40 years or a stress ECG in case of hypertension
- Pulse oximetry (measurement of oxygen in the blood)
- Spirometry (lung function)
- Blood test (only if necessary)
In case of lung diseases, an auxiliary X-ray examination is required. External findings, which are not older than 3 months, may also be brought by the patient. The entire examination takes about 45 minutes and requires an appointment. The validity of the certificate is 1-3 years depending on the travel destination.
